More people have been banned from the roads after being caught drink-driving as part of the Sussex Police December crackdown and more are due to appear in court.
Around 50 drivers have so far been convicted of driving offences as part of the campaign. In addition another six people are to appear in court accused of motoring offences. They were arrested during December and questioned before being released on bail but have since been charged or summonsed.
Aaron Sims, 28, was arrested at 8.50am on December 14 after officers stopped his car on the A2270, Eastbourne Road in Polegate.
Sims, of Penhurst Close, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on March 12.
Emily Kasparis, 19, was arrested at 5.35pm on December 17 after her car was stopped by police in Prince William Parade, Eastbourne.
Kasparis, of Victoria Drive, Eastbourne, was charged with driving while unfit through drugs and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on March 12.
Police are still urging members of the public to help with the continuing crackdown on people who get behind the wheel after drinking.
People can text officers on 65999 with the details of people they suspect of drink or drug driving, along with their car make and registration number.
