More local drink drive charges in Operation Firefly

Four more local people have been charged with drink driving following Sussex Police’s summer crackdown.

As part of Operation Firefly, the police is making the charges public before the accused have appeared in court.

James Lawrence, 30, was arrested at 11.30pm on June 29 after his car clipped a kerb in Seaside.

Lawrence, of Moore Park, Hailsham, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on August 20.

Shane Challice, 27, was arrested at 11.20pm on June 26 after his car was seen being driven erratically in Marshall Road, Eastbourne.

Challice, of Croxden Way, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on August 13.

Catherine Moore, 40, was arrested at 2.20am on June 29 after officers stopped her car on the A27 at Selmeston.

Moore, of The Street, Selmeston, was charged with drive-driving and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on August 14.

Kevin Thompson, 38, was arrested at 11.30am on June 29 in Dittons Road, Polegate, after members of the public reported concerns about the way a car was being driven.

Thompson, of Cooden Drive, Bexhill, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on August 20.

A total of 93 people have been charged so far as part of Operation Dragonfly, Sussex Police’s crackdown on drink and drug-driving in June.
