Twenty five motorists were charged with drink-related driving offences in Sussex over the Christmas period.
In the six days between Christmas Eve and December 29, 38 people were arrested – 25 of whom were charged and seven bailed. Those charged include: Terrance Castle, 73, of Normans Bay, Pevensey, who was arrested on December 24 following a collision in Eastbourne Road, Pevensey Bay. He has been charged and will appear before Hastings magistrates on February 5.
Also stopped on Christmas Eve was Simon Dole, 34, a landscape gardener, of Trolliloes, Hailsham. He was pulled over by police in Eastbourne Road, Willingdon. He has been charged and bailed to appear before Hastings magistrates on February 5.
Stacey Nye, 29, unemployed, of Barn Rise, Seaford, was arrested in Vale Road, Seaford, on December 27. She has been charged and will appear before Brighton Magistrates on January 30.
Amanda Banister, 37, unemployed, of Ersham Road, Hailsham, was stopped in Vale Road, Seaford, on December 28 following concerns about the manner of her driving. She has been charged and will attend Brighton Magistrates Court on January 30.
Aidan Harrison, 36, an electrician, of Western Avenue, Polegate, was stopped following a collision in Burwash Close, Eastbourne, on December 29. He was charged with failing to providing a specimen for analysis and a licensing offence. He will appear before Hastings magistrates on February 5.
Roger Anstee, 68, of Cliff Road, Eastbourne, was stopped on the A27 Pevensey Bypass and was charged with drink related offences and driving without due care and attention. He will appear at Hastings Magistrates Court on February 12.
