Man has throat slashed outside Hailsham pub

A man who tried to intervene in a fight had his throat slashed.

Revellers at The Corn Exchange on Hailsham High Street were left horrified by the attack, which took place at around 1.30am yesterday.

The 52-year-old victim was taken to the DGH with what police thought were life-threatening injuries but remained in a stable condition. The blade used during the attack hit an artery in his throat.
