A man wielding a meat cleaver was arrested at Eastbourne Railway Station on Sunday lunchtime.
British Transport Police officers and colleagues from Sussex Police were called to the station at 1pm.
A BTP spokesperson said, “A 23-year-old man was arrested by officers and taken into custody. He was since been released on police bail, due to return on Monday March 10.”
Chief Superintendent Paul Brogden tweeted, “Thanks for some excellent work by @sussex_police officers attending #Eastbourne station and arresting male with a meat cleaver this morning.”
