A visually stunning array of classic cars, motorbikes, and buses will be proudly on display at Eastbourne’s Western Lawns for the 11th Magnificant Motors event.
The two-day festival, which takes place between May 3 and 4, will see more than 600 entrants taking part in what should prove a fine celebration of vintage vehicles.
Organised by Eastbourne Borough Council, Eastbourne Historic Vehicle Club and East Sussex Omnibus Society, this year will feature seafront cavalcades with live entertainment, children’s fairground and a Grand Prix simulator.
Senior head of tourism and leisure, Tracey McNulty, believed the event is shaping up to be as strong as ever.
She said, “We are very excited to kick off the events programme with Magnificent Motors.
“It is always enjoyed by visitors, both die hard car fans and those looking for a family day out. We look forward to the event and the near by Continental Market located on the seafront.”
Visitors to the festival will enjoy cars as old as from 1897, with cars represented from WW1, post war cars, modern classics, motorbikes, buses and bikes.
There will also be clubs such as Westfield sports car club, Bexhill 100 car club, East Sussex Morris Minor Club, East Sussex Stag owners club, Jaguar driver club and many more among the motoring mix.
Around 400 vehicles are expected to join the seafront cavalcades over the two days, kick-starting the celebration each morning at 10am from Fishermans Green to the Western Lawns.
Visit the continental market along the prom running from Good Friday through to Bank Holiday Monday, and pick up handmade gifts and produce from cheeses to fresh baked bread and homemade conserves.
There is also a chance to take part in the event’s QR Code Treasure Trail to win a number of prizes.
Find a Magnificent Motors Poster or leaflet to start the trail by scanning the QR code with your smart phone and find the clues.
Prizes include VIP airbourne experiences, family tickets to the Redoubt Fortress, a Beer and Cider By The Sea ticket and Bandstand tickets and vouchers for the Western View café.
The festivities takes place from 11am to 5pm on day on May 3 and 4.
