A five-day energy pop-up shop in Hailsham was officially opened by Hailsham Town Mayor Councillor Jo Bentley on Friday (March 28).
The temporary store was set up at The Quintins to offer the people of Hailsham practical advice on how to cut their energy bills.
It will be open from Friday to Wednesday, April 2 (closed Sunday) from 10am-4pm.
The pop-up shop was opened by Mayor Cllr Bentley alongside energy officer for Wealden District Council Abby Hussain, deputy town clerk at Hailsham Town Council Mickey Caira and town crier councillor Geoff Rowe.
Mayor Cllr Bentley said, “I was delighted to attend the opening of Hailsham’s Energy Pop-up Shop this morning.
“It has to be a good thing to find ways to save money and how to be more efficient with our energy use.
“There are experts here who can help you. Bring along your energy bills and talk to them. I also want to thank everyone involved in making this happen.”
Abby Hussain added, “Hailsham’s Energy Pop-up Shop is proving to be a great success. Since 10 am on Friday morning, there has been a continuous flow of local people coming through the door seeking advice about their energy use and that is exactly what we are here for.”
The first 30 people through the door each day will receive energy efficient gifts such as night lights and draught-proof strips.
