Housing association, AmicusHorizon celebrated the successful completion of new homes at Appledore Close, Eastbourne last week.
The development features nine three bedroom homes and local residents have already moved in.
The project resulted from a partnership with Eastbourne Borough Council, which has transferred three sites into the ownership of AmicusHorizon.
Appledore Close was the first site to be completed, a further two schemes will finish later this year.
The partners and local residents gathered for the official opening and ribbon cutting celebration.
The £1.5 million development has been built on the site of Kilkenny Court, a former older person’s scheme.
With shared bathrooms and bedsit accommodation it was considered no longer fit for purpose.
Jane Porter at AmicusHorizon said, “Creating affordable homes and sustainable communities is a priority for us. Appledore Close brings much needed accommodation to families in Eastbourne.
“We’re pleased to have worked closely with Eastbourne Borough Council on this project and look forward to continuing to provide homes for local people.”
