LITTLE Adam Hopcroft met his first celebrities at the tender age of five months.

Adam, from Eastbourne and pictured with his parents James and Nicole, saw Brighton chart sensations Rizzle Kicks while he was being treated at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.

The hip-hop duo – Jordan ‘Rizzle’ Stephens and Harley ‘Sylvester’ Alexander-Shule – were visiting to meet some of the children on the ward and officially open Rockinghorse’s new teenage rooms.

The project, which cost £8,250, included the refurbishment of three rooms with comfortable sofas and chairs, DVD players, table football, game consoles, and a pool table.

Last year, the hospital treated more than 2,000 teenage patients. The new rooms allow distraction from hospital life and a comfortable space to unwind and help them feel more at home, adding to the already excellent services at the Alex, which are provided by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH).

The stars spent time playing with some of the young people, including a game of table football, and signed autographs before moving on to meet and have their photos taken with other children staying on the wards.

Allie Polhill, Rockinghorse’s senior fundraising and marketing manager, said, “It was a great afternoon and the young people really enjoyed Rizzle Kicks’ visit. We’re so grateful to Jordan and Harley for sparing time out from their hectic schedules to open our teenage rooms and meet some of the children at the Alex.”
