Two little girls were hurt in a three car crash which saw the A259 at Pevensey closed for four hours on Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened shortly before 3pm on the busy stretch of road between Pevensey and the B2095 Hooe road.
A man, 50, and a woman, 30, each suffered broken collar bones. The man also sustained knee and eye injuries. He was the driver of a white Vauxhall van and was taken by ambulance to the Conquest Hospital, St Leonards-on-Sea.
After being freed by firefighters, the woman was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. Her two daughters, aged nine and seven, suffered minor injuries. All three were passengers in a Ford Fiesta driven by a 29-year-old man.
Also involved in the collision was a white Citroen Berlingo van whose driver, a 61-year-old man, was uninjured.
