Scores of people are expected at Eastbourne Crematorium today after an on line campaign to give a decorated war hero with no family a proper send off.
Robert Argyle, a Bomber Command pilot, passed away on November 27 aged 92.
He lived in supported housing at St Clement’s Court in Framfield Way.
With no family locally and his funeral at Eastbourne Crematorium at 2.15pm today, his friends and carers launched an appeal for the community to come forward and give him a funeral fitting for a war hero.
Robert’s story has gone viral on social media networking sites and hundreds of people as well as television crews are expected at the Crematorium today.
