Homes staff team up with the police

Eastbourne Homes has joined forces with Sussex Police to help student police officers in their final weeks of training.

Under the Police Partnership Scheme, student police officers have been shadowing Eastbourne Homes’ Neighbourhood Management Team as they visit properties in the local community.

It gives student officers first-hand experience of how Eastbourne Homes Neighbourhood Officers deal with a wide range of housing issues such as anti-social behaviour and evictions. These placements, which form part of their assessment programme, help them understand how police work with their partner organisations to ensure the safety of the local community.

James Leathers, neighbourhood manager for Eastbourne Homes, said, “The scheme is beneficial for us, the police and the local community.”
