The Friends of Eastbourne Adoption Centre’s summer fair, held at the adoption centre in Hailsham’s Marshfoot Lane, raised a grand total of £1,700.
Volunteers helped out manning the stalls, serving the refreshments and setting up and packing away the stalls. There was the usual cake stall, bric-a-brac, plants, official Cats Protection merchandise, a tombola, a raffle and refreshments.
Janice Poole, co-ordinator for the Friends of Eastbourne Adoption Centre, said, “Everyone likes to come along and support Cats Protection and most of all wander along the pens looking at all the cats and kittens that are available for rehoming.
“Many people who support us have rescued cats from the Adoption Centre in the past but still like to keep in touch with the staff and management and also support our events.”
