Hellingly man suffers serious head injuries in collision

A 55-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after being in collision with a car in Hellingly in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, August 30).

The man had just got out of a silver Volkswagen Passat in The Drive when he was hit by a blue Mazda 2, driven by a 37-year-old woman from Hailsham.

The man was airlifted to St George’s Hospital in London by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance.

His condition is described as serious but stable.
