A number of trains from Brighton and Ashford are delayed as well as services to London Victoria.

Network Rail has imposed a 50mph speed restriction between Ashford and Brighton due to the high winds.

This may be causing delays, but Southern have not had any reports about incidents on the line due to debris in the area so far.

However, there have been a number of incidents elsewhere on the Southern network which would have a knock-on affect to services on other parts of the network.

Passengers are advised that disruption is highly likely and to check their journey before travelling.

Expect delays and disruption as forecasters are predicting winds in excess of 80mph.

With the strength of the winds expected, railway infrastructure could be damaged as severe winds can blow debris and trees onto tracks and damage equipment and signals.
