Collections will be taking place at Eastbourne Railway Station this week as Southern’s staff and managers get on track to raise charity cash.
The company’s two corporate charities – The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Martlets Hospice – will receive a boost as Southern’s staff take part in activities to boost the charities’ coffers.
The charity week runs from September 9 until September 15 and yesterday (Monday) saw fundraisers cycle hundreds of miles.
The bike ride took place between 7am and 7pm using two spinning bikes located on the main concourse at East Croydon station and passengers were encouraged to donate whatever they could to Southern’s deserving charities.
Throughout this week residents and commuters can dig deep and support collections at Eastbourne Railway Station.
Andy Harrowell, Southern’s CSR and partnerships manager, said, “There are some really good activities taking place across the network which we hope will raise a lot of money, and I know we can count our passengers to put their hands in their pockets for two wonderful charities.
“Cycling all 414 miles of the Southern network will really made our managers work hard for the money.”
