Teachers behind a new free school in Eastbourne have been speaking to prospective parents in the Arndale Centre.
Paul Taylor and Edward Board set up a stand in the town’s shopping centre to raise awareness of Gildredge House School.
The proposed new all-through school for pupils between four and 19, hopes to be opening at the former Dental Estimates Board in Compton Place Road in 2013 and is currently holding open days for prospective parents of children in Reception and Year Seven.
The Year Seven open days will take place on October 11 and 20 and Reception open days will follow on November 17 and 22. Parents may book an hour-long time slot to meet the governors and tour the site from 10am, 11am or 12pm on either day.
Edward Board, chairman of the governors, said, “We are delighted that we will be able to meet parents and show them the proposed site.
“Although refurbishment work will be required to convert the site into a fully-functioning school, we are sure that parents will appreciate the incredible potential that the site has to offer for an all-through, outstanding education for their children.”
There will be opportunity for prospective parents of other year groups to see the site and meet the governors. Dates will later be released for further open days.
To book a place at one the Open Days, please email open firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0800 358 59 60.
Gildredge House also launched its new identity last week, which includes a logo for the school.
Mr Board added, “This new identity captures a traditional feel and presents it in a 21st century way.
“The school’s motto, Aspire, has been incorporated into this identity.”
