Facial Palsy UK is hosting a family day in Hailsham for children who suffer with the condition.
On September 13 at Knockhatch Adventure Park children will have a chance to mix with others who have the rare condition in a fun and relaxed environment.
One nine-year-old who met others with facial palsy at the charity’s launch event in 2012 said it was ‘the best day of my life’.
Charity coordinator Karen Johnson, who was born with the condition, said, “Growing up I was told that I was the only one doctors knew of who was born with this condition.
“As a little girl I believed I was the only person in the world who could not laugh properly, it was incredibly isolating.
“If I had just known there were others like me it would have made such a big difference.”
Knockhatch Adventure Park, near Hailsham, has a variety of rides and activities for everyone to enjoy including crazy golf, a pirate cove paddling pool, an animal encounters display barn and a wild kingdom display barn.
For this particular day Facial Palsy UK will pay the entrance fee and provide a cold buffet.
Places are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
