Elderly man suffers serious injuries in Eastbourne collision

An elderly pedestrian suffered serious head injuries after he was in collision with a silver Mercedes-Benz in Eastbourne on Tuesday evening (January 7).

The collision occurred on the B2106 Grand Parade, close to its junction with Trinity Place, Eastbourne, shortly after 5pm.

The road was temporarily closed while the injured man, 73, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. The car driver was unhurt.
