Rail services between Eastbourne and Brighton were disrupted last night (Tuesday April 22) when a person was hit by a train at London Road station.

Passengers were encouraged to switch to bus services to travel between the two stations after the incident at about 7.20pm on Tuesday night.

Others already on trains were temporarily stuck in their carriages as emergency services worked on and around the line, bringing services to a halt.

Southern Railways confirmed services were disrupted due to “a person under a train at London Road Brighton”.
