An Eastbourne man was stabbed in the stomach while walking along a street in St Leonards with friends.
The man, in his 20s, was attacked at about 8pm in Chapel Park Road on Sunday, March 9.
He received a single stab wound to the stomach requiring surgery, but is now recovering.
A 34-year-old man from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He was questioned and bailed until Tuesday 15 April while enquiries continue.
