A 34-year-old man wanted for failing to appear at court has been arrested.

James Dunham, who had no fixed address but last lived in Eastbourne, was arrested at an address in Lydd, Kent, on Friday (May 23) and appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on a warrant for failing to appear at court.

He was being prosecuted for inciting a girl under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity when he walked out of Lewes Crown Court and disappeared in January.

Dunham pleaded guilty to the charge on January 9 but after being released on bail to discuss the case with his solicitor in the court building.

The offence happened in Heathfield in January 2012 and involved a teenage girl who knew Dunham.

He was arrested on May 23 as a result of a call from a member of the public and the public are thanked for their assistance.
