Eastbourne couple in court after van crash

A man and a woman from Eastbourne have been charged with a series of offences after a stolen van crashed in Brighton.

A white Trafic van collided with the roundabout at the Mill Road junction with the A23 at Patcham shortly before 2am on Tuesday (February 11).

The van had been stolen from Marine Drive, Eastbourne, on Monday.

Mark Tatnell, 34, of Meads Road, Eastbourne, has been charged with three counts of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop for police officers, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and driving without insurance.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 16.

Tylar Wickens, 18, of Clement Lane, Polegate, has been charged with three counts of burglary and aggravated vehicle taking.

She has been released on bail to appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 16.
