Staff from the hospital trust were praised for their hard work and dedication to patients at an annual awards ceremony.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs Eastbourne’s DGH and the Conquest Hospital, hosted the event at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill.

The evening celebrated the amazing work staff do on a daily basis and recognised their achievements.

More than 150 nominations were received for the nine categories and winners and finalists were chosen by panels of independent judges.

The 10th category, the Chairman’s Cup winner, was chosen and presented by the trust’s chairman, Stuart Welling.

The keynote speaker for the evening was Andy Whittaker, co-author of The Art of Being Brilliant.

The event was supported by the Friends of both hospitals and the winner in each category was presented with a prize donated by local businesses.
