April 19:

Arthur Alekseev, 27, of San Juan Court, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The assault took place at Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne, on December 31. He also pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating and a charge of resisting a police officer at St James Street, Brighton, on April 16. The court made a community order with an alcohol treatment requirement.

Nathan Crabb, 30, of Tollgate Gardens, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to sending an offensive or obscene message by means of a public electronic communications network that was grossly offensive. He was fined £100.

Mehmet Gokhan, 40, of St Leonards Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Hailsham on February 3. He was fined £80 and the court made a community order and also issued a restraining order.

Peter Sargon, 64, of Arundel Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to harassing a woman, attending her home address on many occasions, some at unsocial hours, knocking on the door loudly, shouting, ranting and raving and making false accusations and leaving unwanted gifts. He was fined £100 and the court made a community order with a mental health treatment requirement. Magistrates also issued a restraining order.

Danny Mass, 22, of Cinque Ports Way, Seaford, pleaded guilty to stealing Paco Rabanna fragrance, from Debenhams, at Terminus Road, Eastbourne, on February 2. He also pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating at Terminus Road, on the same date and to failing to surrender to custody at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on March 24. Magistrates made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work.

April 20:

Rory Collins, 20, of Joes Lane, Windmill Hill, Hailsham, pleaded guilty to driving a Honda Civic, on Eastbourne Road, Polegate, on April 2 while more than twice over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 90 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He also pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident in which another vehicle was damaged, at Eastbourne Road, on April 2. He was banned from driving for two years and magistrates made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work.

Peter Cooke, 56, of Daytona Quay, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Nissan Juke on Royal Parade, Eastbourne, on February 17, while more than twice over the drink- drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 230 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. He was fined £900 and banned from driving for 23 months.

David Lown, 24, of Cambridge Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a wrap of cannabis resin. The offence took place at Seaside Road, Eastbourne, on April 1. He was fined £80.

Stephen Spring, 50, of St Phillips Place, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes estate on Carew Road, Eastbourne, on April 3, while twice over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 70 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for 18 months.

Dean Waters, 24, of Falmouth Close, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to being in possession of cocaine, at Eastbourne, Road, Willingdon, on April 3. He also pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis resin on the same day. He was fined £600.

Craig Whitethread, 25, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to stealing food worth £2.70 from Boots in Eastbourne on April 3. He was given a nine month conditional discharge.
