On Sunday, February 7, several people found a woman lying face down with a bicycle on top of her outside the Worthing Bridge Club in Byron Road around 5.45pm.

Caroline Kemp rushed to the scene to find a woman in her early 20s slumped on the floor in the rain.

The former nurse said: “We made sure she was safe and warm and put her in the recovery position.”

The woman was breathing but did not respond to people’s voices. An ambulance was called by one of the members.

She said: “My instinct was to maintain her airwaves.

“When the paramedics came they just took over.”

The club still has the bicycle, but was unable to find out the woman’s identity.

Chairman of the club, Ernest Rivett, has asked if anyone has any information to call 01903 239234.

He said: “We just don’t know what happened to her.”
