A charity has been given a boost after receiving a cheque for £2,000.

Independent estate agents Archer & Partners backed the JPK Sussex Project last year by asking customers to make a donation in return for using their photocopying service.

The charity has been formed to provide a supported living centre for people with a learning disability in East Sussex, but primarily for people currently living in the Eastbourne and the South Wealden areas. Archer & Partners, based in Polegate, helped to raise £1,000 with its initiative and a further £1,000 was donated by its partners, Graeme Archer and David Shelton.

Graeme said, “For many years now we have been donating our photocopying money to local charities and we are proud to have supported such a worthwhile charity as the JPK Project and will continue to do so with raffle prizes at their various fund raising events. We would also like to thank those who have used our photocopying service and given so generously.”

Jill added, “I am overwhelmed and delighted with this generous donation which will certainly make a difference to the JPK being able to commence building in the near future, having obtained planning consent and purchased the site at the former Edgmond Church in Old Town.”
