A business growth scheme was launched this week by Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd and the Chamber of Commerce.
The Growth Accelerator Project was officially launched at the Afton Hotel.
The concept is that already successful companies are provided with some high quality business coaching to enable them to significantly grow their business by more than 20 per cent per annum.
Mr Lloyd, whose Commission was the co-sponsor of the event, said, “I am delighted to support this government initiative and was even more delighted that 40+ businesses turned up to see how the Growth Accelerator Project could work for them.
“It was a really productive session and demonstrates yet again, just how determined Eastbourne is to have a productive economic future.
“The town has really rolled up its sleeves over the last few years and 50+ people attending our seminar is a pretty good illustration of why Eastbourne’s unemployment rate is 30 per cent lower that it was at the General Election – a magnificent achievement for our town.”
Christina Ewbank, chief executive of the Eastbourne and District Chamber of Commerce, added, “It’s great to see so many confident business people ready to grow their business with the help of the Growth Accelerator programme.
“I am particularly excited by the support available to companies who will be able to export their products and services but weren’t aware that this was possible.
“For export assistance visit the Export page of our website on www.eastbourneunltd.co.uk and be prepared to export your services and knowledge.
“It’s not all about exporting products.”
Kevin Highley, MD of Terra Firma Southern Limited said, “Quite inspirational!
“As a company we are going to be very keen to get involved.
“We are doing well as a business, but we need that additional help to take us to the higher level.”
