Bus windscreen smashed by passersby in Stone Cross

Police are appealing for information after a bus was vandalised in Stone Cross.

The bus has stopped at Lion Hill at 3pm on December 18 to let off a passenger when two men punched the windscreen causing cracking to the glass, which did not break.

Both are described as white. One was of average height and muscular to stocky build, with short dark hair. The second suspect was 6’0” tall and of slim build, with short dark hair.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 866 of 18/12. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two men aged 30 and 19, both from Merseyside, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. They were questioned and bailed until January 15 while enquiries continue.
