Real time bus information signs at stops across Eastbourne are out of action again and could be for several weeks.
The electronic signs which tell passengers which Stagecoach bus is due and what time have not been working and the highways department said this week it could be some time before they are fixed.
“Some of the Real Time Passenger Information signs in Eastbourne recently stopped showing timetable information for Stagecoach bus services,” said a spokesperson for East Sussex County Council.
“The signs went blank because the information on the real time system had expired and we apologise for any inconvenience this caused.
“We are using this opportunity to carry out some essential upgrade work.”
The signs are due to resume this week showing real time information for Brighton and Hove bus services in Eastbourne .
The spokesperson said, “This is a temporary solution while we roll out a new real time information system over the year and include Stagecoach and other bus operators services on the new system.
“While this is not the final solution, we hope it will go some way to making people’s journeys easier.”
