Eastbourne actor Lauren Backler will tread the boards at the famous Leicester Square theatre in the heart of London’s West End.
Lauren beat off competition from more than 50 fellow actors to land the part of Nicola in a brand new production Factor 2025.
“It’s very exciting,” Lauren said.
“I’ve done bits and pieces before but this is one of the major things so far and you never know where things might lead.”
Lauren has previously starred in the play Girl Band at the Camden Fringe Festival in London as well as various independent plays.
She is back living in her home town of Eastbourne after graduating in acting at the University of Northampton in 2012.
And just two years later , Lauren has landed what could be her breakthrough role.
Comedian and best-selling author Johnny Tait wrote the play and said it was an easy decision to cast the budding Eastbourne star after holding auditions in Hertfordshire before heading to the East Sussex coast.
“She was absolutely outstanding at the auditions.
“She stood out because she is such a good actor and the pilot has already had rave reviews.”
Factor 2025 is a cynical, comical look at TV talent shows and will debut at the Hailsham Pavilion on Saturday September 27 before moving to the West End in February 2015.
