The Bonfire season is around the corner and the Eastbourne Bonfire Society event is all set for October 5.
The procession in Eastbourne is in week five of the Bonfire season, with Uckfield, Crowborough, Mayfield and Burgess Hill prior. The evening will welcome more than 17 other bonfire societies, a number of bands, drummers, Morris dancers and more.
Starting at the Crown and Anchor Pub on Marine Parade at 7.30pm, the procession will walk east to Fisherman’s Green before reversing and heading towards the Wish Tower slopes to arrive around 8.30pm where the bonfire will be lit on the beaches opposite and the fireworks display will be fired shortly after.
The procession will include the Pentacle Drummers who have performed at many local events.
Eastbourne Borough Council cabinet member for tourism and leisure Carolyn Heaps said, “The Eastbourne Bonfire Society Procession is always great to watch and with fireworks and a bonfire at the end, the evening is very enjoyable.”
Money raised will go to the Children with Cancer Fund and the Matthew 25 Mission.
