Craft Pier, the new beer brewed to raise money for the Pier Benevolent Fund, is now on sale.
The Long Man Brewery and Eastbourne’s Curious Beer Club are passing all profits up to £10,000 from the sale of the beer to help those affected by the fire.
Eastbourne Borough Council has given its support by stocking the beer in its theatres. Drinks distributor H.T.White has also pledged support by helping Craft Pier reach a wider audience and several hotels are stocking it.
Meanwhile, the group overseeing the allocation of money from the Fund has its first meeting on Thursday (August 28). The group, which comprises charitable organisations, supported by Eastbourne accountants OBC, is reviewing applications from pier staff and concessionaires who have suffered financial hardship as a result of the fire.
More than £6,000 has been raised from generous donations from individuals and businesses from the Eastbourne area. The funds are being collected by the Eastbourne and District Chamber of Commerce. If you feel you might be eligible for help, please contact the chamber on 01323 641 144 or visit their website at www.eastbourneunltd.co.uk.
