Attempted murder charge

Dane Road Seaford September 13th 2012 E37113N

Dane Road Seaford September 13th 2012 E37113N

A SEAFORD man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was allegedly attacked with a hammer.

Robert Beck, of Dane Road, was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday last week after police and South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to his home.

A 33-year-old woman known to Beck – a community family worker – was taken to Eastbourne DGH with an injury to the back of her head caused by a hammer. She has since been treated and discharged.

Beck, 58, appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday and was remanded back into custody until his next court appearance on September 28.
