Arrests made following allegations of assaults

Four people were arrested following allegations of three men being assaulted by a group in Eastbourne town centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the trio were set upon shortly after 7pm on Tuesday January 15 outside the Arndale Centre.

The men, aged between 21 to 55-years-old, received facial injuries.

Witnesses also reported seeing a fourth person assaulted but police have been unable to trace them.

Two 18-year-old men and a 20-year-old man all from Eastbourne were arrested on suspicion of affray and a 16-year-old boy from Pevensey Bay was arrested on suspicion of ABH. They have all been bailed until February 14 pending further enquiries.

PC Nathalie Sanders of East Sussex Response Investigation Team said, “We are currently investigating the motive for these assaults and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed them. We would also like to hear from anyone who was also assaulted during this incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1311 of 15/1 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
