A man fell to his death from a town centre car park on Thursday morning.
Police say the man was 67-years-old and lived locally but he has not been officially named.
Emergency services were called to the NCP in Trinity Place after reports that a man’s body was laying in the street.
Roads were cordoned off and officers made house to house enquiries as it was feared the man had died in suspicious circumstances but detectives soon ruled out that theory.
It is believed the man fell to his death from the top of the five storey building.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police confirmed the man’s death was not being treated as suspicious and said the coroner’s officer was investigating.
An inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned.
