Woman thrown from her horse

A WOMAN had to be airlifted to hospital after she was thrown from her horse on Wednesday night.

The woman was out riding with friends on a hillside at Alfriston when her horse bolted and she fell to the ground and suffered back injuries.

Her fellow riders raised the alarm and the Sussex Police helicopter was called to the incident at around 7.45pm.

Because the incident happened on inaccessible hillside, the woman was airlifted to hospital.
