Wildlife raffle raises £900
A raffle organised by East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service (WRAS) raised £900 towards helping wildlife casualties.
The WRAS autumn raffle draw was delayed for a week due to the postal dispute.
Eastbourne's mayor, Mary Pooley, picked all the winning tickets last Tuesday (October 16) with Keith Sharpin taking the first prize of an overnight theatre break in London.
WRAS co-ordinator Trevor Weeks said, "This is the first time we have run a raffle like this and I am delighted that so much money has been raised.
"I would especially like to thank Jacqui and Co-op Travel for helping to sponsor the event and thank everyone who purchased a ticket."
The charity is in the process of trying to equip a special casualty care centre at Horsebridge and still needs vital equipment to help get the unit fully up and running.
