VIDEO: Eastbourne hotel evacuated due to car fire

Waiting for Video...

A CAR burst in to flames behind the Eastbourne Centre on Monday, January 30.

Around 40 guests and staff had to evacuate the seafront hotel and conference centre at around 11.30am.

The car was parked behind the Grand Parade hotel when it caught fire. Firefighters and police attended the scene as a thick black plume of smoke could be seen from miles around.

The fire was brought under control, no one was injured and it did not spread to the hotel building.
