Two break in and steal gold jewels from house

TWO men broke into a house in Hailsham and stole gold jewellery, including a diamond-encrusted engagement ring.

The break-in, in St. Boswell Close, took place some time between 4pm and 11.30pm on October 16.

Police have issued descriptions of the two suspects, both white men aged between 25 and 40, around 5ft 10in tall and wearing dark clothing. One is described as 'chubby' while the other was believed to be wearing a knee-length coat.

It is believed they gained entry via a rear kitchen window and when in the house stole a dark metal gun safe and a selection of jewellery, including three or four gold wrist bracelets, a number of gold rings and a gold diamond-encrusted engagement ring.

Anyone with information should call PC Tom Blakely on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 2143 of October 16.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
