Two men arrested after Eastbourne stabbing

TWO men have been arrested after a man was found lying on the ground with stab wounds near Eastbourne Pier in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 23-year-old victim was found just before 3am with stab wounds and other injuries. He was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital, where he was treated and has since been discharged.

Two men, a 27-year-old from Thornton Heath, Surrey, and a 26-year-old from Eastbourne, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm on Saturday, questioned and released on bail until November 1.

Detective Constable John Steven from Eastbourne CID said: “We are trying to establish the exact circumstances that led up to this assault and are appealing to anyone who was in the area between Elms Avenue and Grand Parade and witnessed the assault to please get in touch.”
