Two arrests after assault

TWO MEN have been charged with kidnap and false imprisonment after a man was assaulted in Eastbourne.

The incident took place on Monday March 15 when a 19-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and forced into the back of a vehicle by three men in their 20s at around 9.30pm in Bourne Street. He was then said to have been taken to a nearby address and subjected to a further assault before managing to escape.

Marcin Purlis, 28, and Adam Urbanski, 27, both from Eastbourne, have been charged with kidnap, false imprisonment and robbery.

They have appeared at Eastbourne Magistrates Court and been remanded in custody. No pleas were entered.

Detective Constable Hannah Millard said, "I am keen to trace a couple believed to have been outside a property in the Willowfield Road area and also a man in a silver car parked outside a carwash on Seaside.

"These people may have important information to assist in the investigation and I would urge them to come forward."
