Tube problems could disrupt today’s Olympic travel
A fire alert on the Tube is likely to cause disruption to anyone heading to the Olympics today.
Trains were suspended on a section of the Central Line which serves the Olympic Park’s nearest stop of Stratford.
A spokesman for the Transport for London said, “The suspension is due to a train being taken out of service at Leyton after the driver reported smelling smoke.
“This has been investigated and all passengers left the train and station without reported problems.”
Passengers are being urged to instead use the Jubilee Line, the Docklands Light Railway of overground trains to reach Stratford – with warning that the Jubilee Line will be “exceptionally busy today”.
