Tributes flood in for Seaford waiter found dead
TRIBUTES have flooded in after the body of a Seaford waiter – described as a true gentleman – was found in his flat last week.
Dozens of floral tributes have been left outside the Moon of India restaurant in Sutton Park Road, where 27-year-old Ahmed Remon Hayder worked.
His body was found in the flat he lived in with his parents and five-year-old brother last Monday (February 1) afternoon.
Police were called to the scene after blood was seen dripping through the ceiling into an architect's office below, situated next to the restaurant.
His cousin Mohammed Anhar appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Monday after being charged with his murder.
Mr Hayder, known as Ray to his friends, was running the family-owned restaurant while his parents and brother were in Bangladesh.
One friend described Mr Hayder as someone with 'a great personality' while his family said he was a 'beloved son and brother'.
The family statement added, "He was a sociable and lovable person. He brought a smile to those around him.
"He was so caring and so considerate to anyone he associated with. He would never hurt a fly. He left us with a lifetime of memories.
"As a family we are deeply shocked and devastated regarding his sudden death. We hope justice will be served. We will miss him for eternity and miss his beautiful laugh."
Police last week said Mr Hayder, who had lived in Seaford all his life and was actively involved in both the Seaford and Bengali communities, had died from head injuries.
His death has shocked the community and Seaford Town Council has opened a book of condolence in his memory.
Residents are invited to sign the book at 37 Church Street, which is open from 9am to 8pm from Monday to Friday, and 10am to 6pm on Saturday.

l Mohammed Anhar, 33, of Gurdon Road, East London, was charged with murder and aggravated burglary and appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Monday.
He did not indicate pleas to the charges and was remanded in custody. He was due to appear at Lewes Crown Court today (Wednesday).
