Trevor to receive his gong at the Palace
The founder of a local animal rescue charity has a date with the Queen today (Thursday).
Trevor Weeks, who heads East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service, will be presented with an MBE at Buckingham Palace in recognition of his year’s spent helping stricken animals.
Mr Weeks said, “I am nervous to say the least, and not sure what to expect.
“I am still surprised that I am receiving this award, when you see so many people doing such wonderful work around the country, I honestly thought I’d be the last person to get anything like this.”
Trevor was attacked by a thug this week after he was flagged down by a man in a van.
The man demanded drugs, believing that Trevor was driving an ambulance
