Top athletes head for the seafront

RUNNERS from across the country will be in Seaford next weekend as the South Coast Triathlon comes to town.

For the sixth year UK triathlon is staging the event which takes place at the Martello Fields on Seaford esplanade.

The day, which includes a classic, sprint, fun and relay triathlon, is aimed at all abilities and fitness levels, from the complete novice to club and pro triathlete as well as charity and fun competitors.

On the Sunday there are different running events to suit all abilities, ranging from a half marathon to a 5k fun run.

All entrants receive the free, quality official race T-shirt and there are prizes for the top three male and female triathletes in all races as well as age group prizes in the Sprint and Classic Triathlon.

Seaford residents are reminded that the esplanade will be closed to cars from 8.30am to 5pm on Saturday.

There is still time left for people to enter the event.
