Time running out for £1m Lottery winner

A £1m winning lottery ticket bought in the Wealden area remains unclaimed.

With just two weeks left to find the winner of the £1m EuroMillions Millionaire ticket, the National Lottery has teamed up with Hailsham bakery The Homely Maid, in a last-ditch attempt to unite the missing winner with their prize.

The Homeley Maid will be selling EuroMillionaire Shortbread with the winning Millionaire Raffle selection clearly displayed on the top of the treat. It is hoped this will jog a memory or encourage customers to double check their tickets.

The EuroMillions ticket, which was bought on November 25, 2011 in the Wealden District Council area, has the winning EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle selection VVT537436. If the owner comes forward before 11pm on May 23 they stand to win £1 million.

The latest activity comes after a Lonely Heart advertisement for the ticket for Valentine’s Day failed to find the winner.

A Lottery spokesperson said, “With just under two weeks left for the prize to be claimed we are doing all we can to try and jog people’s memories.

“With the help of the Hailsham bakery and their very tasty shortbreads we are trying to ‘tempt’ our winner into claiming their prize!”

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the deadline, the prize money, plus the interest it generated, will go to Good Causes – adding to the £27 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The Lottery launched in 1994.

Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
