Teenager sentenced for attack on partner
A teenager who “boxed” a former partner’s head like a punch bag has narrowly escaped jail.
Eighteen-year-old Tyler Chambers was given a six- month prison sentence suspended for two years and must also carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
He was also told by magistrates at Chelmsford Law Courts he must attend a domestic abuse programme.
Chambers, of Rattle Road, admitted assaulting his ex-partner on December 9 during a failed attempt to re-kindle their relationship.
His victim told police that everything became “blurry” when she fell to her knees to protect herself from being assaulted.
“He was punching me on the back of my neck, he was boxing my head repeatedly for four to five seconds,” she said. “He placed four fingers in my mouth to stop me screaming.”
She suffered a swollen right eye, lumps to the back of her head, a painful jaw and cuts and bruising.
