Students live on air

STUDENTS from Seaford Head Community College (SHCC) took to the airwaves recently.

Seahaven FM welcomed the pupils to present their own music and content to the online audience from modern hits to 'classics from the 80s'.

Maya Metcalfe, Vicky Blake and Emma Kent presented the first of the three-hour slot and set the standard with a mix of music and conversation. Benjamin Joy and Jimmy Pyle then took the comedy hour, with lots of gags, banter and an online vote for the best song won by Jim. The final hour was presented by Danielle Pope-Harwood, Matthew Sinclair and George Smith.

This broadcast, organised by Gary Newport, teacher at SHCC, and Nick Mallinson, MD at Seahaven FM, is not a one off.

This is the first of many broadcasts, with more planned for this Saturday between 3-6pm.

From February 28 SHCC will take up a permanent slot to allow the community to meet the students and the students to show what teenagers can truly achieve.
