Seaford venues open doors for Artwave festival

VARIOUS venues across Seaford opened their doors on Saturday as the annual Artwave festival came to town.

Following months of preparation artists welcomed guests to view their creations which includes anything from photos and paintings to sculptures and ceramics.

Artwave spreads across the Lewes district and will run until September 12. The Stafford Road Artists and Makers is a team of 18 who are showing off acrylic paintings, original handbags made from exotic recycled materials, life drawings, textile art and much more.

It is based at 54 Stafford Road and as well as opening at the weekend visitors can also see work on display on September 4, 5, 11 and 12.

Other venues in the town that are taking part in the festival are Driftwood at 4 Marine Drive in Bishopstone where landscape paintings and ceramic creations will be on display while Seaford Cottage will be home to four artists including two photographers, a painter and art and illustrator.

At 39 Beacon Drive there will be a series of photographs that cover landscapes, seascapes, nature and abstract images and much more. There will also be a selection of unique greeting cards.
